2) Editorial Independence

• Editorial decisions are made by our editors and subject experts.
• Content is never influenced by advertisers, venues, or partners.
• Partnerships, if any, are disclosed clearly on-page.

3) Accuracy & Sourcing

We prioritize primary sources and cross-check secondary sources for reliability.

Source Types We Use

• Uganda & regional legislation and government websites.
• Statements from card rooms/venues and tournament organizers.
• Standard poker references (rulesets, hand rankings, calculators) and academic/statistical resources where relevant.

4) Fact-Checking & Review Process

1. Writer draft → scope, clarity, plain English.
2. Editor review → verify claims, numbers, odds, and definitions.
3. Subject-matter check (experienced player) for low–mid stakes strategy accuracy.
4. Copy edit → grammar, style, and regional clarity (Uganda/Africa context).

5) Updates & Maintenance

• Pages with time-sensitive details include a Last updated stamp.
• Core pages audited at least every 6 months; legal/safety pages quarterly or as needed.
• Substantive changes are noted in an Updates section; minor edits may not be logged.

6) Corrections Policy

• Report issues via Contact or the email below.
• Material errors receive a visible Correction note with what changed and why.
• Original publication date is preserved; correction date is added.

7) Conflicts of Interest

• Team members must disclose any financial ties to venues, training products, or poker brands.
• Individuals with a conflict do not review or publish related pages.

8) AI-Assisted Workflows

• AI may assist with brainstorming, outlines, image drafts, or grammar checks.
• Humans are responsible for all final facts, numbers, and advice; no article is published without human review.

9) Responsible Play & Age Guidance

• poker.ug is an information site only. We do not host games, accept payments, or link to illegal gambling.
• We promote safe, legal, responsible play for adults 25+.

10) Advertising, Affiliates & Sponsorships

We do not run ads. We may publish affiliate links; if we do, they will be clearly disclosed and will not influence our editorial decisions.

If this changes, we will:

• Label all sponsored content at the top of the page.
• Separate ads from editorial and refuse formats that mimic our articles.
• Apply the same review standards to partner-related content.

11) User Contributions & Comments

• User tips (e.g., venue updates) are verified before publishing.
• Defamatory, harmful, or promotional submissions are removed.

12) Accessibility & Readability

• Plain English with summaries, infographics, and downloadable references.
• Key pages optimized for mobile and low-bandwidth users common in parts of Africa.
